Half day sightseeing of Athens

Your driver will pick you up from the arranged point and we will start this full day private sightseeing tour of Athens.

As you enter the city center and the tour begins, your first stop will be at the exquisite Panathenian stadium. Built on the site of the ancient Athenian stadium, entirely from marble, for the first modern Olympic Games of 1896. It is very impressive and well worth a stop.
After the brief stop you will set off towards the Temple of Zeus, a colossal ruined temple that was dedicated to Zeus, king of the Olympian gods. The remains of this once great temple still inspire awe to the visitors of the site.
Continue onwards via the national gardens for a brief stop outside the Greek parliament. The traditionally dressed Evzones stand guard outside the building; the changing of the guards is fun to see and get a feeling for Greek modern history. Your driver will be waiting to take you to the Acropolis.

The Acropolis of Athens

The drop off point is at the entrance of the site. With your camera in hand and your walking shoes on, walk up to the site to enjoy the beauty of these magnificent buildings. See the Parthenon, the Propylaia, the Erechtheion and the temple of Athena Nike. The buildings on the Acropolis are considered by many as the most impressive architectural feats of the ancient times.
The Acropolis, and the Parthenon in particular, is the most iconic monument of the ancient Greek civilisation. It continues to stand as a symbol in many ways: it is the symbol of democracy and of the Greek civilisation. It also symbolises the beginning of Western civilisation and stands as the icon of European culture.

Your visit to the Acropolis will end and the tour will continue with a walk to the new museum (a short walk downhill of about 10 minutes).
